The Funny Thing About Bobby Goldsmith

A Multi-Talented Professional

"A clean comedian, storyteller, speaker, host, emcee, best-selling author, and a professional people-lifter-upper."

Every good story has a few twists, and Bobby Goldsmith’s has enough to make even a GPS say, “Recalculating.” After losing his father as a teenager and growing up in a neighborhood where “luxury” meant the ice cream truck actually came down your block, Bobby learned early that life can be tough—but laughter has a way of helping people stand back up, dust themselves off, and keep moving forward.

That lesson became the heartbeat of Bobby’s comedy. What began as a genuine love of people—and an uncontrollable urge to make them laugh from the checkout stands at Walmart, to waiting rooms, and the long lines at the DMV, that eventually led him from comedy clubs in New York to the incredible stages of California.

Along the way, Bobby has performed at some of the nation’s most recognized comedy clubs, including the IMPROV, the Funny Bone, New York City’s Broadway Comedy Club, the Helium  Clubs, and so many others.

Bobby’s style is what he proudly calls “Adult Clean' --- smart, relatable, entertaining, and 100% vulgar-free. One of the most common reactions after his shows is, “Did you really  perform for an hour without using even one cuss word?” Yes. Yes, he did. And people still laughed—sometimes harder, because nobody had to explain anything to Grandma on the ride home.

Before stand-up became the "headline", Bobby spent many successful years as a professional speaker and coach, helping audiences find motivation, perspective, and occasionally the will to stay awake during a seminar. That background gives his comedy something extra: encouragement without being preachy, humor without being harsh, and stories that remind people not to take life—or themselves—quite so seriously.

His work has taken him to television programs that aired on affiliates of ABC, FOX, NBC, CNN , and HGTV. He was featured in the TV special Let’s Do Some “Kountry-Kicken” appeared in infomercials and brought his personality to radio as host of From Diapers to It Depends! on WCGO-1590 in Chicago and again on WTAN-1340-Tampa Bay. He also served as “The Voice” of the Financial Tip of the Week as a more than 30-year financial professional on the drive-time radio program Everyday with French & Friends! (hosted by Daniel French).

It is entirely possible Bobby is one of the few comedians who can explain the nuances of a 401(k), get a laugh, and still have people ask for his card afterward.

Offstage, Bobby is deeply committed to community, participating in multiple charity events, from the American Heart Association, at church and especially for the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), and  always  with sincere gratitude for the work they do.
