"When Robert (as we know him, now going by his childhood nickname "Bobby" in the comedy world), who has been our family's financial advisor for decades, recently mentioned that he's been "moonlighting" as a Standup comedian, our curiosity got the best of us. But honestly, given his sharp wit & the ease in which he navigates the complexities of finance, none of us were surprised. Even still the thought of him on stage, "trading spreadsheets for punchlines," was too intriguing to pass up. So, we decided to see for ourselves what Robert's comedy was all about, and OMG, what a pleasant surprise!
Attending one of his shows in Sherman Oaks, we expected... perhaps a few finance-related jokes, maybe some light-hearted pokes at some of his clienta, and the nervousness of a beginner... but it was nothing like that. What we didn't expect was to be blown away by his comedic timing and his unique talent for making people laugh (without even using a PowerPoint - haha).
Not only did he boost our appreciation for his multifaceted personality, but he also shared how the power of humor brings people together. We left the show with a deeper bond and admiration for his ability to navigate two drastically different worlds.
If you only know Bobby as a financial advisor (an incredibly knowledgeable one at that who has already done so much for our family financially), you're missing out on our new little secret: a comedic talent that makes you realize how fortunate you are to know him. A talented and genuine personality, a family man, and an outstanding human being. We're all already looking forward to attending one of his next shows! Can't Wait - get back home to California ... We Miss you!

While its rather unconventional to have a comedian entertain us in the comfort of our own home, Bobby was willing to do so and completely exceeded our expectations. "When Bobby Goldsmith came to perform at our senior center, he turned what could have been an ordinary Thursday afternoon into something really special. As the activities director, I’m always hoping to find entertainment our seniors will truly enjoy, and Bobby was exactly that. He has such a natural way of bringing people together through laughter.
Even before the show officially started, Bobby was already chatting, joking, and making our residents feel comfortable. Not gonna lie here! I had the privilege of working with Bobby and his lovely wife Deanna for their TV special last year. During the show, he talked about his antics as a StandUp comedian, but we had no idea just how good. When the opportunity came up to go watch him perform at SideSplitters in Tampa, we jumped at it with a few friends. To make it even more difficult for him, we sat right up front (I hear performing comedy in front of people you know up close can be challenging)! Great News... He Absolutely DID NOT Disappoint.
It was as if he had been performing his whole life, his natural talents came shining through. Go see him. And, if you're an event planner or booker for a club.. BOOK HIM! You will NOT be disappointed!
